Don't Replace, Reprogram

For many, reprogramming AEI tags can be inefficient in the time and money spent in completing a necessary activity; until now, there has been no alternative to either ordering pre-programmed tags or spending time and money to de-mount and re-program tags in-house to fulfill AAR standards. With a tighter market for tags currently, now is a better time than ever to reprogram as opposed to replacing your operation's AEI tags.

According to the American Association of Railroads (AAR), nearly 8.9 million

AEI Tags have been installed on railcars in 24 different countries around the world.

While it may seem obscure, replacing railcar RFID tags after a car has been re-stenciled is an important practice that many repair shops, maintenance operators, and fleet owners must consider when the time comes to do so. Ordering pre-programmed tags can take weeks, and un-mounting and re-programming tags can be costly and a drain on time and resources.

In Industrial Networks' new patented technology, we have solved this issue by creating a low-cost, easy-to-use, and effective way to replace railcar transponders. Beyond completing routine maintenance and operations tasks such as railcar inspections, taking inventory, loading and offloading products, etc., the INT300 series allows users to reprogram mounted AEI tags from anywhere. In leveraging this powerful technology, supply chains can eliminate the need to order programmed tags at higher prices or take the time to program tags themselves, saving both time and money.
